Get Adobe Acrobat Reader Software

Due to the very small percentage of our customers who work in a "pure" Macintosh environment, it is not economical for us to supply all of the available SOLUTIONS Software databases with native Macintosh Installers.

This doesn't mean that you can't access the datafiles -- it only means that there are some limitations and additional tools needed during installation. After the datafiles are installed, you'll be able to use the native Macintosh Acrobat Reader along with full Search capability.

Note 1: The install routine we provide for the Adobe Acrobat Reader with Search for Macintosh requires that you have access to the StuffIt Expander (Freeware) tool from Aladdin Systems, or an equivalent software product that expands BinHex format from CD-ROMs.

The StuffIt Expander can be obtained from the Internet, from Compuserve, from AOL, and from many other sources.

Note 2: To install the SOLUTIONS Software datafiles and indexes, you must have either:

  • connectivity to a "real" (or emulated) Windows system via a LAN,
  • or a Windows emulator (such as Insignia's SoftWindows),
  • or an Intel add-in card for your Macintosh to allow you to run "real" Windows on your Mac.
  • After you install the PDF datafiles and associated indexes within the real or emulated Windows environment, you can then transfer the installed files to your Macintosh's hard disk to view and search them with the supplied Macintosh version of the Acrobat Reader with Search.

The requirement to use a Windows environment for installation only applies to a few of the available SOLUTIONS Software datafiles.

If this limitation applies to a particular product, it is noted on the Product Description page for that product (on the SOLUTIONS Software World Wide Web server); it is also marked with the '#' note symbol on our on-line Order Form.
